Olympic uniforms

The decision to have American Olympic uniforms manufactured in China must have been made by unpatriotic, out- sourcing congenital idiots!

Texas Navy!

Texas has a navy! High speed boats have started patrolling the Rio Grande which divides Mexico and the United States.

Smugglers and drug traffickers use the river to infiltrate and unload their cargoes on the US side of the river, but when the U S Border Patrol tries to arrest or stop them, the river becomes an escape route to safety on Mexico's side of the river.

When the Border Patrol attempts to stop and arrest drivers of vehicles loaded with bales of drugs, often times a high speed car chase ensues with the drug traffickers driving their vehicle directly into the river; then they escape back into Mexico.

Drug traffickers keep numerous small boats in the river ready to pick up persons and salvage the bales of drugs to return them to Mexico until the next attempt to unload them on the US side.

Hopefully the speed boats will put a dent in the drug traffic and the persistent smuggling of undocumented aliens.

The Digital Age

Digital inventions are marvelous but they have turned us into a sound bite nation. The news is reported in sound bites. We text in sound bites. Presidential candidates campaign in sound bites. We no longer think in sentences and we are too busy watching digital machines to read books.

It's almost impossible to turn off all the digital machines we think are essential for daily routines. Before we had them, we enjoyed nature's gift of weather reflected in the clouds, singing of birds and flowering trees and shrubs as we moved thru the day, but now we sit in closed air conditioned rooms and listen to reproductions of music or the human voice as our eyes are bombarded with thousands upon thousands of graphic images.

Our imaginations are stolen by digital machines. We are so busy watching them we no longer know how to think or question the whys and wherefores of life. We are content to let the machines tell us in sound bites what is going on in the world around us and we allow ourselves to be persuaded by forces that are not in our best interest.

Super-pacs

Since the United States Supreme Court made the decision to allow campaign super-pacs, our vote is no longer secret.

Anyone with the money to form the biggest super-pac can purchase his choice for President of the United States of America, negating the act of entering a voting booth and secretly indicating our personal choice on a ballot.

In making that decision the court awarded Money more power than Law giving lip service to our belief that we are a nation of laws
